Southern Embryo Connection can put their years of experience to work for you. In 2008 the decision was made to open their facility to the public. Up until this point, Southern had been putting in approximately 1800 embryos per year with a combined conception rate on fresh and frozen embryos of 62%.  Southern is currently flushing approximately 50 donors a month for themselves and customers combined. With the way the facility is designed they are able to continue flushing right thru the summer. Each of the pens inside is equipped with fans and misters and the spacious outside runs have plenty of shade for the cattle to loaf under during those long Southeast summer days.

The staff at Southern Embryo Connection is second to none. The team is headed up by the donor barn manager Kyle Jurney, who has spent his entire career in the registered cattle business. The embryologist Joel Carter and Audy Spell have literally traveled the world putting their talents to work for some of the most progressive operations in and outside of the United States. If you are searching for professionalism, dedication to the cattle business, and of course results then give Southern Embryo Connection a call and put their experience to work for you.

You may also want to visit with Kyle about the calf raiser program at Southern. For those who do not know what a calf raiser program is, this is a tremendous opportunity for a producer to expand their herd when land constraints become a problem or if your current management scenario makes a ranch based ET program impractical.

How does this work? You can either ship your donor to be flushed or ship frozen embryos to Southern and they will put those embryos into their recipient cows. You are notified, once the cattle are palpated, so you know how many pregnancies you have coming. Once the cattle are born Southern puts their years of experience in raising ET calves to work for you. The calves are put on creep feed starting at 60 – 90 days of age until weaning. The calves will get two rounds of vaccinations for Blackleg, IBR, P13 BVD, Haemolytica and Haemophilus. They will also be dewormed   at least twice during this time frame. The calves are weaned from 180 days of age to 240 days of age. Once the calves are weaned you can come and pick up your next generation of donor females or potential herd sires.

Give one of the staff members a call to discuss the latest pricing on all of their procedures and programs. Call today to reserve your space as Southern Embryo Connection has a limited amount of recipients available for the calf raiser program and they are usually spoken for very quickly.
